From being a bit shaky but still pulling through, Barangay Ginebra hopes to have built a momentum to ride on as the Gin Kings take on the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters Wednesday.
Bringing some joy to their fanatics at the Ynares Center-Antipolo in their 85-82 escape act over Blackwater Sunday, the Kings bring their act over to the MOA Arena in Pasay City in their 6 p.m. clash with the Elasto Painters.
While the Kings seek a second straight win, the Elasto Painters look for a bounceback victory from a 94-81 slip versus the NorthPort Batang Pier Thursday where they lost ace gunner Rey Nambatac to a sore rib.
Earlier, Nambatac and his teammates squeezed out a 79-77 nail-biter over the Converge FiberXers to open their campaign in PBA Season 47.
Getting a hit on the face and later on the rib, Nambatac failed to finish their game against the Batang Pier. The question now is his readiness for the Gin Kings and against Season 46 MVP winner Scottie Thompson.
Thompson picked up from where he left off last campaign, churning out a near triple-double game to help the Kings brush off the vastly improved Blackwater team.
Japeth Aguilar, though still smarting from an injury suffered in the last conference, lent a hand, sticking the dagger through Blackwater’s heart with a clutch jumper towards the end of the match.
