A couple of its main guns are back, but Blackwater knows it will take more than just offense to beat a loaded team like TNT.
In fact, coach Aris Dimaunahan insists it is on defense that the Elite should focus on when they take on the KaTropa and KJ McDaniels Wednesday at the start of their PBA Governors Cup campaign at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Prolific scorer,” was how Dimaunahan described the former NBA campaigner, who averaged 39.5 points in TNT’s two games last week in the East Asia League Terrific 12 Invitationals in Macau.
“Susubukan naming depensahan ng mahusay bukas,” stated Dimaunahan. “Hindi ng iisang tao… ng lahat para malimitahan at para magkaroon kami ng mas malaking chance na manalo.”
Hearing it from TNT coach Bong Ravena, it looks like McDaniels indeed must carry most of the scoring load.
