After surviving a gritty Blackwater side, Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone is next bracing for a ‘war.’
The Kings face the surging Meralco Bolts when the PBA Governors’ Cup resumes Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in a big game whose outcome would play a major role in the two team’s bid to finish in the Top 4 heading to the playoffs.
Cone is naturally wary of the Bolts, having seen how they demolished the San Miguel Beermen in their last outing, 125-99.
“Now we got Meralco coming up, one of the league leaders and they’ve been playing well, they just blew out San Miguel,” noted the Ginebra coach.
The Bolts are a familiar team for the Kings, having battled them in back-to-back title series during the 2016 and 2017 Governors’ Cup finals, which Ginebra both won.
