After jolting one another in lopsided matches in Games One and Two, Barangay Ginebra and NorthPort could finally be in for a slambang showdown as they dispute the crucial 2-1 lead in their PBA Governors Cup best-of-five semifinals face-off at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday.
The two are expected to go hard at each other in the 7 p.m. match where the winner moves on the cusp of the best-of-seven finale.
“They had all the answers in Game One. We had all the answers in Game Two. And that usually means Game Three is going to be a huge battle and a tight game,” said Ginebra coach Tim Cone.
The Batang Pier fired on all cylinders and steamrollered past a flat Ginebra side, 124-90, in the series opener, before the Kings regained their senses and got back as hard at NorthPort side, 113-88, Monday.
With their overpowering win in Game Two, the Kings regained their status as the heavy favorites versus the Batang Pier, especially with their shellacking of Michael Qualls the last time.
