Jared Dillinger on much-anticipated Brgy. Ginebra debut: “I’ll play right away once I’m 100% healed”

Jared Dillinger has yet to play his first game for Brgy. Ginebra after the crowd darlings snagged the 35-year old Fil-Am from Meralco’s unrestricted free agent list and the team’s legion of fans are now wondering when the five-time PBA champion will make his much-anticipated debut.

Dillinger has been a fixture on the team’s bench the past few games and the so far 6-foot-4 wingman is already loving the atmosphere.

“It’s a nice feeling, knowing that the whole country is behind your back. It’s a great feeling,” said the former self-confessed Ginebra-hater.

The 2nd overall pick of the 2008 Rookie Draft was previously one of Ginebra fans’ most vilified player after he posted on his Twitter account that he couldn’t stand that team and its players.

It didn’t help that the Bolts were crushed twice by the Gin Kings in the Finals of the Governors’ Cup which made the animosity even greater.

But now, everything is water under the bridge and all Dillinger could hope for is to play and show the fans that he is worth the trouble. D-day, may still take some time though, as he wants to be completely healthy before taking the plunge.

“I spoke to coach Tim Cone and the management. They really wanna make sure I take my time with this so they’re very patient. They just want me to be healed, there’s no timetable.”

“When I’m already one-hundred percent, I will play right away.”
