LA Tenorio is finally on board after a short vacation in the US.
The 36-year old native of Nasugbu, Batangas showed up for his first practice with Brgy. Ginebra this season and joined the rest of the Gin Kings in scrimmages at the Aquamarine Recreational Center in Lipa City, Batangas.
The team is currently on its second week of training.
The 4th overall pick of the 2006 rookie draft got fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Los Angeles, California after receiving a jab of Johnson & Johnson and then observed the mandatory 14-day quarantine upon his arrival in the country.
“Yes, first day ko (nung Monday),” said Tenorio who already had his hands full on his very first day as he was assigned to test the mettle of rookie guard Brian Enriquez.
The 25-year old Enriquez, who has a 5-inch height advantage over the 5-foot 9 Tenorio, tried to call the plays and at times even posted up against the 4-time PBA Finals MVP.
Tenorio struggled to keep in step with his teammates but the 14-year veteran is confident of being in game shape once the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup kicks off either late June or early July.
The Gin Kings are the defending All-Filipino conference champions having clinched the league’s most prestigious tournament during the PBA bubble last season in Clark, Pampanga.
