Brgy. Ginebra’s ‘lefty trio’ of Art dela Cruz, Jeff Chan and Jared Dillinger will still be ‘out of commission’ once the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinal round edition of Manila Clasico unfolds on Saturday, July 20 at the MOA Arena.
Chan, Dillinger and dela Cruz joined the team’s Thursday practice but Gin Kings coach Tim Cone quickly dismissed the possibility of the three suiting up in the playoffs.
“Not at this point. I don’t see anybody back at this point. We will work with who we have. It would be extremely nice to have one or two or all of those three guys back,” said the 61-year old mentor.
Dillinger is still nursing a quad injury which he suffered while he was still with the Meralco Bolts while dela Cruz is currently down with a groin injury. Chan, on the other hand, is still recovering from a sprained ankle which he sustained against Blackwater last May 24.
The three have started to work out with the rest of the team but Cone would rather focus on preparing the healthy players especially Stanley Pringle who’s still in the process of learning the system.
“We have a firm rotation. We know who we want to play and I keep saying, we are still exploring things that Stanley can bring to us.”
