Brgy. Ginebra chief playmaker and concurrent Letran assistant coach LA Tenorio admitted that he is having mixed emotions during the ongoing Finals of NCAA Season 95 since the Knights are up against defending champion San Beda, his high school alma mater.
“Weird feeling talaga, kami ni coach Rensy (Bajar). Wala eh. Ganoon talaga ang buhay. Nandito ako sa Letran, I’m part of the coaches and I’m here para tulungan ang mga bata,” said Tenorio who assumed the post last February upon the invitation of head coach Bonnie Tan.
“It doesn’t matter kung nasa Letran ako, hindi naman ibig sabihin na binabalewala ko na nag-San Beda ako. Nandoon pa rin ang pagiging Bedista ko. Siyempre all-out ako sa Letran kasi dito ko pinagtuunan ang oras ko eh. Kahit after Ginebra practice, punta ako sa practice nila at games,” added the 13-year PBA veteran.
With his playing career now down to its final stretch, the 35-year old native of Nasugbu Batangas is now looking to share his knowledge and experience on the sport to the upcoming generation.
“Sobrang natutuwa ako kapag nakita ko yung players na mag-succeed for all the things that has happened this season. It’s not for me, but for the players,” said Tenorio
“Gusto kong matulungan sila, ma-inspire sila to become better players and better person. It’s a weird feeling lang pero at the end of the day, trabaho din. Nandito yung calling ko, to inspire aspiring basketball players,” added the 4-time PBA champion.
