LOOK: Brgy. Ginebra Championship Party!

Barangay Ginebra veteran Mark Caguioa, 40, said he’s not about to hang up his sneakers just yet.

“As long as I can. There’s no timetable. As long as my body is holding up. I’m going to continue to play,” said Caguioa, the 2012 MVP and eight-time champion who is entering his 19th season in the PBA.

“The Spark” has lately taken a backseat to the likes of LA Tenorio, Stanley Pringle, and Scottie Thompson but is always ready when called upon for quality minutes off the bench.

“I enjoy every minute of it. I may not be playing a lot of minutes. I enjoy being in the backseat, looking at how guys are developing. Like I said, it’s really nice to see guys coming out of their shells,” he said.

The 6-foot-1 shooting guard announced he was playing at least one more year for the Gin Kings during their post-Governors’ Cup championship last Monday.

“Coach Al pulled me aside, sinabi niya he’s going to give me one more year so I’m grateful for that,” said Caguioa, referring to Ginebra governor Alfrancis Chua.
