Stanley Pringle made his debut for Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel last Sunday at the hot and humid Batangas City Coliseum and the reception he received from team supporters was no different from the condition of the venue.
The 2018 PBA Scoring Champion, who was constantly showered with cheers throughout the game by the pro-Ginebra crowd, finished with 16 points, 8 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals and along with the prolific Justin Brownlee powered the Gin Kings to a 127-99 rout of the NLEX Road Warriors.
“Oh, it’s great! Wonderful experience. Great group of guys, great team, great coaching staff. I’m just glad they all welcomed me, coached me, and helped me get along the whole time,” shared Pringle shortly after the game.
The 32-year old Fil-Am credited his new teammates for making the adjustment period smoother than the usual.
“They’ve been helping me in practices since I’ve been here from day one. If it wasn’t for them, everybody, the whole time, just teaching me everything about the team, about offense and defense, so it was really easy.”
The Gin Kings, thus, picked up their second consecutive victory and more importantly positioned itself for a better shot at landing at the top 2 spot which carries a twice-to-beat incentive in the next round.
Even as he continues to settle down, Pringle vowed to do his best to help the team defend the Commissioner’s Cup crown.
“It’s a great organization, a great fanbase. I’m just here to help the team be the best team they can be, and just help the team however I can help them.”
