Brgy. Ginebra management immediately shot down rumors that Scottie Thompson is on his way out of the team and that LA Tenorio is close to calling it quits.
“LA is not ready to retire. Retirement, darating sa lahat ng players yan. But si LA hindi pa ready mag-retire yan,” said Gin Kings team manager Rayboy Rodriguez during an interview with SPIN.ph.
“LA is averaging 40 minutes a game and close to 15 points a game. So management and coach Tim Cone don’t see him retiring soon,” he added.
The 35-year old Tenorio also debunked such claims and even bared that he has just signed a fresh three-year deal with the country’s most popular squad.
“Kaka-sign ko nga lang, eh. Until 2023 yun,” said the 4th overall pick of the 2006 rookie draft.
Thompson, meanwhile, is staying put and is actually considered an integral part of the ballclub’s future.
“He’s a major part of the team’s direction,” stressed Rodriguez.
