In a quick turnaround from a losing game against Phoenix Pulse Friday night, Ginebra coach Tim Cone turned heavily on his starting unit.
With Justine Brownlee and the four other Ginebra starters all playing big, the Gin Kings rebounded from a setback and topped the Alaska Milk Aces, 118-106, to seize solo fifth spot in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Sunday.
Brownlee once again flirted with a triple-double performance, Stanley Pringle dished out his most explosive game in a Ginebra jersey, and LA Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar had their own prolific games.
Joe Devance got only seven markers and five rebounds but made his presence felt on defense.
“Big thing was team effort,” said Pringle, exploding for 27 points and eight assists to be among the strong anchors in their fifth win against four losses.
In his biggest game from his transfer from NorthPort, Pringle expressed thanks to his teammates.
