The veteran duo of Japeth Aguilar and LA Tenorio starred for the Gin Kings who blew a 12-point lead early in the 2nd and trailed by as much as 8 in the 3rd. Aguilar paced Richard del Rosario-mentored squad with 22 points on a sizzling 9-of-11 shooting from the field to go with 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 7 rejections in 28 minutes of play.

“Our character showed in the second half. We played out of character in the first,” said del Rosario who called the shots in lieu of Tim Cone who’s still with the Miami Heat in the NBA Summer League.

“Mga hustle stats, talo talaga kami. You can see the energy of Terrafirma. Parang nothing to lose for them and everything to gain. Sa amin naman, this was really an important game as we can’t afford to slip in the standings,” he added.

“We wanted to really share the basketball. In the first half, we’re playing selfish. Everybody wanted to score. Tsaka nag-focus kami sa scoring than stops. Yun ang naging problema. Buti na lang natauhan lahat.”

Christian Standhardinger backstopped his frontcourt buddy with 18 points, 10 boards, 7 dimes and a steal while Arvin Tolentino added 13 points and 6 rebounds.
