Still fresh from winning a championship in the NCAA, Jerrick Balanza capped his first year in the PBA with another one.
The 24-year old Brgy. Ginebra rookie considers himself truly blessed after being a part of the Gin Kings’ 2020 Philippine Cup conquest which came as a quick follow-up to Letran’s title-clinching run in the collegiate league last year.
“Sobra-sobra yung blessings talaga.
Balanza, who was chosen by the Gin Kings as the 13th overall pick in the 2019 draft, saw action in only 11 games out of the 22 that the team played inside the PBA bubble but it hardly mattered for him as he considers being a part of Brgy. Ginebra more than enough blessing already.
A bonus indeed for somebody who just two years ago had to undergo a major surgery to remove a brain tumor and then had his rookie season in the pro league nearly cancelled by the COVID-19 pandemic.
