Barangay Ginebra came out firing from the halftime break, cutting loose from a tight game en route to a 105-83 rout of Magnolia Pambansang Manok in the PBA Governors Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Sunday.
Justin Brownlee came through with a near triple-double job with 27 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds, and himself provided the spark in a telling third-quarter breakaway en route to a second straight win and their third in five games.
Brownlee rattled in two big three-pointers highlighting a 34-point explosion by the Kings from a 45-44 count at the half.
And also taking care of business on the defensive end, the Kings pummeled the Hotshots hard in the final half, and sent Magnolia skidding to a third straight loss.
The Hotshots dropped to 3-4 as they were beaten by the Kings by 21 huge points in the second half.
With the win, the Kings moved up to fifth place while the Hotshots dropped to joint sixth with the Columbian Dyip at 3-4.
