Brgy. Ginebra is back in familiar territory.
Just one year out of the PBA Governors Cup finals, the Kings made their way back right there after disposing off the NorthPort Batang Pier with three straight lopsided victories.
Riding the momentum of big wins in Games Two and Three, the Kings built early double-digit spreads and held on to score a semis series-clinching 120-107 triumph at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last night.
And coach Tim Cone and his team now take a break, returning to play only on Jan. 8 in bid to reclaim the crown they failed to defend last year after a two-year reign in the season-ending tourney in 2016-17.
“Hopefully this is our time again. Each year, nakakakuha kami ng championship, hopefully makuha namin ito,” said Ginebra chief playmaker LA Tenorio who played a key role, personally keeping the Batang Pier at bay with his 13-point explosion in the fourth period.
Tenorio finished with 19 markers on top of six assists and one steal, and the other Ginebra starters had their solid outings to lead the team to an early passage in the best-of-seven finale.
